The owners of this 1940s Cape Cod-style house desired to spend more time outside enjoying the views and breezes on their generous, sloping lot. The two-story addition consists of a large screened porch with an outdoor fireplace above a new family room and office.  A wrap-around porch spans from a new mudroom to an existing stone wall, which retains the front yard, and across the front of the house to face the street. The new construction solves the steep grade, connecting the new front porch to the side kitchen entrance, while contributing visually to the life and character of this historic downtown neighborhood.
